Mr. Dick with the Crusader Logo along with hi s message- The second semester is underway and with it the hope that Spring will soon be here. Funny thing is, I am writing this note to you from our very first attempt at a remote learning day because Spring doesn’t seem very interested in showing up. Thankfully, this is not true of the students and staff at Memorial. In fact, they’re not just showing up, they’re doing great work. Going as far back as the 2021-2022 school year, we just had the best academic semester since returning from the pandemic - this covers 9 semesters. In that time, the highest failure rate we’ve had was the second semester of 2021-2022 where 19.15% of classes resulted in an F. This year, our first semester failure rate was almost half of that - 10.20%. Do we want to continue to improve? Of course we do. Our goal is for each day to be a little bit better than the day before. Am I proud of our accomplishments? You better believe I am. Clearly, we have been getting better each day for the past four years and it shows. And with all due respect to St. Patrick’s Day, we’ve done this without the luck of Irish. It comes from good, old fashioned, dedication and hard work on the part of our students, our staff, and the greater Crusader Community. And that is something we can all be proud of.
